Blippar, a London-based Augmented Reality technology company, has now secured a $5 million in Pre-Series A funding round.
Led by Faisal Galaria, CEO, Blippar is a technology company that specializes in augmented reality (AR) content creation and publishing to any smartphone and the web. Its AR creation and publishing platform, Blippbuilder, enables everyone from teachers to creative technologists globally to create and publish their own AR experiences. Blippar’s augmented reality studio, “Studio B,” incorporates a team of strategic advisors and designers that can create a bespoke AR campaign to meet individual KPIs.
“2020 was a transformative year for Blippar with a 200% increase in revenue quarter on quarter, continued strengthening of the senior leadership team, and delivery of cutting-edge AR campaigns for major global brands including OnePlus, Kellogg’s and Dr Pepper. We have leveraged our 10 years of investment, provenance, and technology leadership in the AR space to come back leaner, more focussed and better than ever before.”

Blippar latest funding
The round was backed by Chroma Ventures, which is the investment arm of Paddy Burns, West Coast Capital, the private equity arm of Scottish entrepreneurs with participation from Globalive Capital.
Chroma Ventures, Principal Manager, Chris Van, will now be going to join the Blippar Board of Directors along with Justin Cooke.
The company as of now, has plans to use the new funds to further develop its technology and accelerate its growth in key markets which includes Asia, US, and Europe.
